I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Stanford University, graduating in 2028, with experience tutoring students in Analysis I and II, SAT Math, and Creative Mathematics. I enjoy helping students develop both complete technical understanding and confidence under pressure, especially in fast-paced or competition-oriented settings.

My instructional experience includes tutoring college-level analysis for a student at EPFL, as well as designing and building custom remote tutoring software tailored to a student preparing for a Creative Mathematics competition.

I come to every session prepared with carefully chosen problems and a precise focus on the subject matter. We build strong problem-solving habits through deliberate study, working until each topic is understood and problems are approached consistently with confidence.

Beyond tutoring, I have seven years of experience as a Creative Mathematics competitor and won the 2021 state championship in the speed-trigonometry competition Trig-Star.

These experiences taught me the importance of careful preparation, precision, and efficient problem-solving in timed settings. I aim to bring that same structured and encouraging approach to my students, whether working online or in person.

I am a Stanford University undergraduate studying Mathematics and Political Science, with a strong academic background in quantitative problem-solving, writing, research, public policy, and the social sciences. I tutor students in mathematics, English and writing, history, government/civics, study skills, and research-based assignments. My experience includes both formal tutoring and mentoring roles, as well as informal experience helping younger students and peers strengthen their understanding of difficult material. I chose my majors because I enjoy both rigorous analytical thinking and understanding how laws, institutions, and communities shape the world, and I hope to pursue a career at the intersection of policy, technology, law, and public service. As a tutor, I try to be patient, clear, and encouraging. I focus on identifying exactly where a student feels stuck, breaking the material down into manageable steps, and helping them build confidence rather than simply complete an assignment. My goal is for students to leave each session feeling more capable, organized, and prepared to approach challenging subjects independently.

My name is Cristian, and I tutor in Palo Alto, California. I am a student at Stanford University (class of 2029) pursuing mechanical engineering with a strong passion for mathematics, physics, and problem-solving. I’m fascinated by how things work, especially aircraft, mechanics, and technology. I enjoy helping other students build confidence in subjects that are often seen as intimidating. I primarily tutor STEM subjects including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, physics 1 and statistics. I believe STEM subjects become much more manageable when students are guided step-by-step and shown how concepts connect to real-world applications. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve grades and test scores, but also to help them genuinely understand and feel more confident in the material they are learning.

Outside of academics, I enjoy engineering projects, sketching design concepts, working with CAD and 3D printing, cooking, and spending time outdoors. I value patience, consistency, and hard work, and I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and challenging themselves. Whether a student is preparing for exams, trying to strengthen foundational skills, or aiming for advanced STEM coursework, I look forward to helping them succeed and reach their goals.

I have a strong background in English, which I am continuing to pursue as my major. I especially love literature, but having taken both AP English Literature and AP English Language, I am also well-versed in the argumentation/rhetoric side of English. My AP English experience has taught me the literary analysis and essay composition skills that I still use in college, and I would be happy to apply these skills to any students’ needs. Whether a student is working through AP English, reading comprehension, book analysis, or essay writing, I would love to use my knowledge to make things easier.

As for mathematics, I plan on either double-majoring or minoring in math. I am currently enjoying my Linear Algebra course, and I have just completed Calculus III last semester. Having received top scores on the AP math exams, I am comfortable teaching the subjects required to succeed on these tests. I also formerly worked as a private tutor over the course of three years, teaching elementary level math, so I am also comfortable explaining elementary through AP level mathematics.

I am planning on minoring in French and studying abroad in a francophone country. I have been studying French for the past five years, and I would love to help anyone with their grammar, speaking, comprehension, or AP test prep.
