My name is Michelle, and I offer tutoring in Providence, Rhode Island in Math through Calculus, Chemistry, English, Economics, Government, Computer Science, and the SAT. I’m an undergraduate student at Brown University majoring in Computer Science and Economics, graduating in 2028.

I’m excited to help students learn, build confidence, and discover a passion for learning. Throughout high school and college, I’ve taken classes in different areas like calculus, chemistry, physics, computer science, economics, government, and English. I’ve grown to appreciate how different subjects connect, and I hope to help students develop that same appreciation.

I also coached swimming for two summers, where I worked closely with students of different ages and abilities. Being in that environment taught me a lot about working with others, communicating clearly, and supporting people as they work toward their own goals. I enjoyed getting to know swimmers over time and being someone they could rely on for guidance and encouragement. I’m excited to tutor and build connections with students while helping them feel confident and engaged in their studies.

I care about creating a supportive, comfortable environment where questions are welcome and learning feels manageable. I’m really looking forward to working with students and helping make their learning process a fun and fulfilling experience. My name is Kavon, and I am a recent graduate of Brown University (Class of 2025), where I earned a degree in Biophysics. I am currently living in Providence conducting clinical research while applying to medical school.

I tutor the following K-12 subjects: Math up until multivariable calculus, Physics/Biology/Chemistry up to college level, English, Computer Science, and Athletics - Soccer, Basketball, Tennis.

During my undergraduate years, I served as a tutor with the Brown Refugee Youth Tutoring and Enrichment (BRYTE) program, an experience I found very rewarding and formative. Working closely with my tutee reinforced my love for teaching and mentoring, and I am excited to return to tutoring in a more formal capacity.

Academically, I am especially interested in tutoring STEM subjects, particularly math and science.

My tutoring style emphasizes learning by doing: working through example problems together, encouraging independent thinking, and stepping in to guide rather than immediately provide answers. This approach helped my tutee build confidence and achieve improvement on their math and science exams.

Outside of academics, I have a strong background in athletics. I grew up playing competitive soccer and basketball, played for the Brown Club Soccer team, and also competed in tennis tournaments as a kid. It would be an honor to share both academic support and athletic skills with others, drawing on lessons from my own coaches and team experiences.

My name is Christine. I am a tutor in Providence, Rhode Island and a first-year neuroscience and biochemistry student at Brown University. I have a strong passion and background in education, and helping students bridge the gap between their interests and academics in order to develop a passion for their future studies in college and beyond.

I tutor Math (through Calculus BC), Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, English, French, and ACT prep (I scored 33 Composite: 35/30/33/32). My AP scores were: Biology (5), Calculus AB (5), Calculus BC (4), French Language and Culture (4), Government and Politics (5), Macroeconomics (4), Psychology (5), Statistics (4), World History: Modern (5).

At Brown, I am a part of the IMPULSE neuroscience research team, where I continue to refine my skills in neuroscience and learn about, engage in, and publish research at Brown and other schools across the country. Additionally, I am a current BRYTE refugee tutor, where I help tutor students in the area who may need additional support, whether it is academically or emotionally.

In high school, I was also a tutor for the Women’s Alliance of STEM and Humanities, a national non-profit that had the goal of teaching young students in elementary and middle school introductory STEM and humanities topics. This experience gave me the opportunity to learn effective ways teach and inspire young students in order to unlock their potential and become excited to learn! I am excited to educate and mentor students and help them become more confident, not only with their assignments but also with their educational journey as a whole.

My name is Annie, a violin and SAT instructor in Providence, Rhode Island. I am a sophomore at Brown University (expected to graduate in May 2028), pursuing a double concentration in International and Public Affairs and Public Health.

In music, I bring an extensive musical background to my work as a violin instructor. I have played the violin since I was six; my experiences include earning state, national, and international awards. I have performed at notable venues such as Carnegie Hall and held high leadership roles, including Concertmaster of the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra(s) and Assistant Concertmaster of the Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles National Festival. I was also selected as the only violinist from Washington State to participate in the 2023 National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America (NYO-USA). Furthermore, I have previously taught beginner violinists (ages 8-11) through my local youth orchestra’s volunteer program, and I love guiding young musicians along their musical journeys!

Within academics, for students in high school, I specialize in the SAT. I scored 1560 (Reading and Writing 760, Math 800). After significantly improving my own verbal SAT score by developing distinct skills and strategies, I am eager to help students strengthen and maximize their performance to make the test feel more manageable and less intimidating. I have also worked with elementary school students on grammar and reading comprehension for several years, creating personalized lesson plans and maintaining close communication with parents to support each student’s goals.

Whether it be in academics, music, or both, what I find most rewarding is making a meaningful impact by helping my students build confidence through consistent progress. As a tutor, it is my priority to ensure that I cultivate a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel truly motivated to learn and grow.

My name is Abby, and I offer tutoring in Providence, Rhode Island, in Spanish, English, math up to Calculus AB, chemistry, history, statistics, SAT (math and English), beginner Arabic, K-8 (all subjects), and volleyball. I'm a first-year student at Brown University, majoring in International & Public Affairs.

I've been interested in tutoring and helping other students since middle school, where I started out by tutoring writing to younger grades. In terms of academics, I intentionally pursued a diverse course load in high school, excelling in honors and AP classes from Chemistry to Spanish to World History, as well as the SAT. I deeply value intersectionality in education and studying; I love helping students become more well-rounded by tutoring them in subjects they struggle with, while also helping them dive deeply into subjects they are already passionate about. I strongly believe in the power of one-on-one and small-group connection to help students find new value, joy, and success in their academic careers, just as some excellent teachers throughout my education helped me to find the same.

In high school, I continued this passion by coaching volleyball both for the team at my former middle school and for individual students through private lessons, all the while playing as a 4-year varsity volleyball player. I also played 4 years of club volleyball and earned a place as an all-state athlete. Through sharing my volleyball experience and learning with younger students, I've developed a deeper passion and understanding for the sport, and love working with young athletes on everything from individual skills to game knowledge to how to be an effective team member and leader.
