My name is Naomi, and I offer tutoring in Amherst, Massachusetts. I’m a sophomore at Amherst College, double-majoring in Neuroscience and Law, Jurisprudence, and Social Thought, graduating in 2028.

I tutor Math, Biology, Chemistry, English, History, Psychology, SAT (I scored a 1570), mock trial, debate, classical and jazz Alto Saxophone. I also tutor the AP Exams I took (my scores are in parentheses): Calculus AB (5), Calculus BC (5), Chemistry (4), Comparative Government (5), Computer Science Principles (5), English Language and Composition (5), English Literature and Composition (5), French (4), Government and Politics (5), Physics C: Mechanics (3), Psychology (5), and World History (5).

I’ve completed coursework up to multivariable calculus and organic chemistry, and I’m currently taking my first neuroscience course along with two classes on jazz history and law. In high school, I was a math tutor through Mu Alpha Theta, tutoring students up to Calculus AB, and a member of the National English Honor Society, where I helped peers by proofreading and editing essays. At the middle school and high school level, I tutor all subjects, whether math, writing, biology, chemistry, history, psychology, etc, and can help students prepare to excel in many different AP exams (I took a dozen AP exams myself) and tests like the SAT. I also tutor younger children, as young as kindergarten through 3rd grade, helping them with homework and tutoring them in various subjects while babysitting.

I currently serve on the executive board of the Amherst Mock Trial team, after founding and leading my high school’s team. Both roles have involved mentoring newer members and teaching core principles from the ground up. I’ve also played the alto saxophone for ten years, studying classical performance through middle and high school and now exploring jazz at Amherst. Music has always been one of my biggest passions, and I’d love to share that enthusiasm through tutoring!

Across all these experiences (academic, artistic, and extracurricular), I’ve developed a strong love for teaching and helping others learn in ways that suit their unique styles. I believe the best tutors meet students where they are and tailor their approach to inspire both confidence and curiosity.

My name is Mike, and I'm a tutor in Amherst MA and a junior Biophysics/Biochemistry major at Amherst College.

I tutor Math up to Calculus 2, Physics (mechanics), Introductory Chemistry, Introductory Biology, Computer Science (Java), ACT, and Track and Field (Sprinting and Hurdling). As a student, I've dipped my toes into a variety of topics. I chose a major uniquely requiring high level coursework in a variety of science topics, and I combine those skills with coding experience. Because of my differentiated background, I can tutor students not only in content, but also teach to see beyond the coursework and understand how to succeed academically.

My interest in tutoring comes from being classmates with such a variety of people. I love putting myself in another person's shoes to see how they interpret a problem, and then communicating in a way that they would best understand.

I also have 8 years of experience in competing in track and field, where I specialize in hurdling and sprinting. In my high school years, I spent three seasons as a captain, leading our team to a state championship in 2023. I can teach hurdling to beginners or help refine technique for athletes with a few years of experience.

I'm excited to make students feel encouraged and confident in their abilities after every session with me.

I’m Amory, a tutor in Amherst, MA for English, Math (Up to Calculus 2 or Statistics), Chemistry, History, Social Studies, Government, and Trumpet. I’m a History major at Amherst in the class of 2028. I’m also on a premedical track so I’m comfortable with a really wide array of subjects!

At Amherst, I’m currently enrolled in the general chemistry sequence, and have completed Calculus 2 and Statistics coursework. In high school I took 11 A.P exams, including one I self-studied for (A.P World), so I’m very experienced with the exam format! I've assisted my younger brother, currently a high school junior with his coursework, and found that to be a great experience. I have experience with being a patient tutor, and understand the importance of really taking the time to explain difficult concepts. I also have found taking a step back from a specific problem to focus on the bigger picture to be a valuable tactic, and feel ready to help with a very wide array of concerns, be it editing an essay or studying for the SAT!

I'm also looking forward to adapting my methods to your own individual learning style, whether you learn best through visualization or memorization! At Amherst I’m on the rowing team, which has been a wonderful experience. I’m an Eagle Scout and a trumpet player as well—I’m happy to tutor trumpet too. I love learning, at school or at home, and can’t wait to help you learn as well!
