Speech, debate, and mock trial tutoring develops public speaking confidence, argumentation skills, research ability, and the quick analytical thinking that competitive academic activities require. The tutor works with students on argument construction, evidence evaluation, rebuttal technique, delivery, and the rules and conventions of specific competitive formats — Lincoln-Douglas, Public Forum, Policy, Congressional debate, or mock trial — depending on the student's goals. Students learn to think on their feet, construct and dismantle arguments efficiently, and communicate under pressure with clarity and conviction. Tutoring can be conducted online, giving you access to exceptional tutors from leading colleges nationwide. When you are in the same college town as a tutor, in-person sessions may also be arranged on or near campus.

Yes. Many of our tutors are strong across several subjects, and sessions can cover more than one if that's what the student needs that week. Flexibility is built into how we work.
Most of our tutors continue working through breaks, either online or in-person at the college if the tutors remain on campus during that vacation. We'll let you know in advance if a tutor has a gap in availability and arrange coverage with one of our other tutors — in-person or online — in the required subject.
