My name is Konstandina, and I am a tutor in Northampton, Massachusetts and a first-year student studying chemistry and philosophy at Smith College. I am offering tutoring across both STEM and humanities subjects in Northampton, Massachusetts. I am on a pre-law track as I hope to continue to graduate studies in chemistry as a path to patent law in the pharmaceutical industry. I tutor Sciences (chemistry, biology), Math (through calculus 2 and AP Calculus BC), Writing (scientific, creative, research, opinion), Social Studies, History (especially European/US), Politics, Philosophy, Languages (Spanish and Greek), Arts (cello and contemporary dance), and mock trial writing and performance, as well as AP courses and exams. My AP scores were Biology (5), Calculus BC (5 on BC and AB), Chemistry (4), English Language (5), English Literature (5), European History (5), Spanish Language & Culture (5), US Government & Politics (5), and US History (5). I have always had a passion for learning and pedagogy, and it is very important to me that I help others in this process as well. I want to learn about my students' strengths, and direct them towards progress, confidence, and passion, while maintaining cultural awareness and positivity. Sharing knowledge and clarity in academic subjects is meaningful to me because it can bridge gaps through building foundational skills and critical thinking. Beyond content knowledge, it is also my goal to help students learn study skills and strategies that will serve them beyond their specific coursework. My involvements and interests are very interdisciplinary. I have studied classical cello and dance for most of my life. I also find myself reading, writing, and researching in my free time. My interests are almost always accompanied by some kind of teaching aspect, as well. For example, I taught cello lessons to younger students in my community who did not have access to traditional private lessons. I worked with these students on pieces they were excited to learn, teaching them the correct technique to make their goals possible. At my home dance studio, I have been teaching and assisting classes across various styles and age ranges. Furthermore, I tutored throughout high school in almost every subject and grade level, as well as test prep–especially ACT English and math. I also have offered college essay editing and preparation to students throughout the years. In high school, I excelled in AP chemistry, biology, English language/literature, Spanish, calculus (BC), government, and US/European history. At Smith, I have completed advanced general chemistry, multivariable calculus, introduction to political theory, and a religion-focused writing intensive. This semester, I am taking organic chemistry, physics, ethics, and philosophy. I am continuing music at Smith by participating in the accredited Smith College Orchestra, performance lessons, and chamber music. I am also part of Celebrations, which is Smith’s student-led dance company! I’ve learned through creative hobbies and academic endeavors that there are infinite transferable skills and ideas used across disciplines. I’ve found myself on the mock trial court using logic strategies I developed in calculus! I sometimes treat my lab work as if I’m learning a new piece of music–developing technique and assessing my results through a critical lens. I believe that all students have interests or talents that certainly will help them succeed in other areas, and it is my job to help make those connections.

If you have a specific tutor in mind, you're welcome to request them directly — we'll confirm whether they're available and the right fit for your student. Otherwise, Ryan writes a personal email to understand your student's needs, learning style, and goals — then handpicks a tutor from the roster. You're not filling out a form and getting assigned randomly. If the first tutor isn't the right fit after the first session, we'll find you a better match at no extra charge.
Yes. Many families start with a single session to see how the tutor and student connect before committing to a regular schedule. There's no pressure to book in advance — reach out and we'll set something up.
Yes. Many of our tutors are strong across several subjects, and sessions can cover more than one if that's what the student needs that week. Flexibility is built into how we work.
Most of our tutors continue working through breaks, either online or in-person at the college if the tutors remain on campus during that vacation. We'll let you know in advance if a tutor has a gap in availability and arrange coverage with one of our other tutors — in-person or online — in the required subject.
Occasionally, if the student lives very close to the tutor's campus. Most sessions take place on or near the college campus or online. This keeps sessions in an academically focused environment — which tends to produce better results.
The families who see the biggest results are the ones who commit to a regular cadence — typically once, twice, or three times a week. One-on-one tutoring with a student from an elite college, who genuinely understands the material, is a fundamentally different experience from a tutoring center or an app. Most of our clients stay with us for multiple semesters.

That depends on where your student is starting and how consistently they show up. Konstandina will identify the specific gaps, focus sessions on them, and adjust as the student progresses. Families who stick to a weekly schedule typically see meaningful progress within four to six weeks.
