My name is Kelly, and I am a tutor in Providence, Rhode Island. I am an undergraduate at Brown University (Class of 2026) studying Applied Mathematics–Economics and Computer Science. My tutoring subjects are violin, math (algebra through multivariable calculus and linear algebra), statistics, economics, SAT (I got a 1600), and ACT (I got a 36). Teaching has been a constant throughline in my academic and creative life, and I enjoy helping others build confidence and mastery across disciplines. I have played violin for over 15 years, performing works such as the Sibelius, Tchaikovsky, and Paganini concertos, appearing at Carnegie Hall, serving as concertmaster of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, and serving as a member of the Brown University Orchestra. Through years of performing and teaching, I have learned how patience, listening, and encouragement help students grow both technically and personally. In mathematics and statistics, I was double accelerated in high school and took college level courses at Georgia Tech, later earning a top 9% placement in an international team-based mathematical modeling competition. At Brown, I serve as a teaching assistant for linear algebra, intermediate microeconomics, and macroeconomics, and I am part of a small group of Math Teaching Fellows who study how students learn and how to make challenging material clearer and more engaging. Working with hundreds of students each semester has taught me how to adjust to different learning styles and support students through both uncertainty and progress.Outside the classroom, I am also a nationally recognized visual artist (Scholastics Award Gold Medalist) with 17 years of experience, the former Class and Student Council President of my high school, and a Peer Career Advisor at Brown. I also studied Latin with perfect scores on the NLE, NLVE, and NCEE and conducted research at Emory University and the CDC during high school, experiences that shaped my belief that there is beauty and meaning across all disciplines and that every student deserves to feel curious and capable. When I teach, I combine careful attention to detail with curiosity and creative problem solving so students feel supported while building independence. My goal is for every student to feel understood, capable, and proud of their growth as they develop skills that stay with them long after a lesson ends.I achieved the following test results, and I'm happy to help other students prepare for these:SAT: 1600 (800 Math, 800 Reading)ACT: 36 Composite (36 Math, 36 Writing, 36 Reading, 35 Science)SAT II Math: 800 AP Exams: Calculus BC (5), Chemistry (5), English Language (5), English Literature (5), Government (4), Latin (5), Physics (5), Statistics (5)

If you have a specific tutor in mind, you're welcome to request them directly — we'll confirm whether they're available and the right fit for your student. Otherwise, Ryan writes a personal email to understand your student's needs, learning style, and goals — then handpicks a tutor from the roster. You're not filling out a form and getting assigned randomly. If the first tutor isn't the right fit after the first session, we'll find you a better match at no extra charge.
Yes. Many families start with a single session to see how the tutor and student connect before committing to a regular schedule. There's no pressure to book in advance — reach out and we'll set something up.
Yes. Many of our tutors are strong across several subjects, and sessions can cover more than one if that's what the student needs that week. Flexibility is built into how we work.
Most of our tutors continue working through breaks, either online or in-person at the college if the tutors remain on campus during that vacation. We'll let you know in advance if a tutor has a gap in availability and arrange coverage with one of our other tutors — in-person or online — in the required subject.
Occasionally, if the student lives very close to the tutor's campus. Most sessions take place on or near the college campus or online. This keeps sessions in an academically focused environment — which tends to produce better results.
The families who see the biggest results are the ones who commit to a regular cadence — typically once, twice, or three times a week. One-on-one tutoring with a student from an elite college, who genuinely understands the material, is a fundamentally different experience from a tutoring center or an app. Most of our clients stay with us for multiple semesters.

That depends on where your student is starting and how consistently they show up. Kelly will identify the specific gaps, focus sessions on them, and adjust as the student progresses. Families who stick to a weekly schedule typically see meaningful progress within four to six weeks.
