My name is Franklin, and I tutor in Williamstown, Massachusetts. I am a freshman at Williams College, Class of 2029. I intend on majoring in statistics and math. I've tutored all throughout high school, and I hope to continue helping students on their own academic journeys. Previously, I have tutored with the Chicago North Shore Chinese Center, teaching English and math. I've also tutored through the National Honors Society in high-school math, biology, and English. Coming this semester, I will be a TA in the statistics course I've taken this year, STAT 202: Intro to Statistical modeling. These experiences personally enriched me, and have encouraged me to explore more tutoring opportunities. I am comfortable tutoring in a wide range of subjects, whether it’s STEM subjects, humanities, or extracurriculars. In particular, I am intimately familiar with the AP Exams and SAT (I scored 1590), as I’ve both received and given tutoring in these areas. I took the following AP Exams (my scores in parentheses): Calculus BC (5), Chinese Language and Culture (5), English Language (5), Physics (4), Research (3), Seminar (5), Spanish (5), Statistics 5), US History (5), World History (5). I know these tests are important to students and their futures, and with my experience, I will approach and guide students as a fellow colleague who has all the tips and tricks of the trade. For those families who have younger children, I am also experienced in tutoring in elementary and middle school-level subjects. In addition to tutoring all grade levels, I have also received tutoring from Kumon, which was hugely important for developing a solid understanding of fundamental skills and knowledge in math that translated into academic success. I understand how to help a student prepare for excellence, and I am prepared to help. In terms of teaching style, I value patience with all my students, clear communication, and building a strong foundation. I always ask them what their goals are and how they learn best, then I adapt my teaching to suit their needs. I'd love to tutor in any subject I can, as I simply enjoy helping students achieve a higher level of understanding and learning. I hope that through these ventures, I will be able to guide students and help them grow.

If you have a specific tutor in mind, you're welcome to request them directly — we'll confirm whether they're available and the right fit for your student. Otherwise, Ryan writes a personal email to understand your student's needs, learning style, and goals — then handpicks a tutor from the roster. You're not filling out a form and getting assigned randomly. If the first tutor isn't the right fit after the first session, we'll find you a better match at no extra charge.
Yes. Many families start with a single session to see how the tutor and student connect before committing to a regular schedule. There's no pressure to book in advance — reach out and we'll set something up.
Yes. Many of our tutors are strong across several subjects, and sessions can cover more than one if that's what the student needs that week. Flexibility is built into how we work.
Most of our tutors continue working through breaks, either online or in-person at the college if the tutors remain on campus during that vacation. We'll let you know in advance if a tutor has a gap in availability and arrange coverage with one of our other tutors — in-person or online — in the required subject.
Occasionally, if the student lives very close to the tutor's campus. Most sessions take place on or near the college campus or online. This keeps sessions in an academically focused environment — which tends to produce better results.
The families who see the biggest results are the ones who commit to a regular cadence — typically once, twice, or three times a week. One-on-one tutoring with a student from an elite college, who genuinely understands the material, is a fundamentally different experience from a tutoring center or an app. Most of our clients stay with us for multiple semesters.

That depends on where your student is starting and how consistently they show up. Franklin will identify the specific gaps, focus sessions on them, and adjust as the student progresses. Families who stick to a weekly schedule typically see meaningful progress within four to six weeks.
