My name is Ana, and I am a tutor and a junior at Davidson College, in Davidson, North Carolina, studying Biology on the pre-med track. I love all things STEM, including Biology, Anatomy, and Psychology. In addition to science, I am a fluent Spanish speaker and am comfortable tutoring all levels of Spanish. I can also tutor mathematics up to pre-calculus and support students in Language and Literature courses. I especially enjoy literary analysis and brainstorming ideas to help students craft meaningful, well-structured essays. I have experience working with children and students of all ages, both in and out of the classroom. In academic settings, I have served as an Assistant Teacher for the Hispanic Studies Department at Davidson College, where I led small groups of 5–10 college students during 50-minute sessions. As a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, I also tutored high school students in Spanish 3 through AP Spanish Literature. Outside the classroom, I have babysat and nannied children ranging from 6 months to 10 years old since I was 16. I have also worked as a catechist, teaching fourth-grade students. Additionally, I regularly support my two younger siblings with Biology concepts and English essay workshops! I took nine AP courses in high school and continue to challenge myself academically at Davidson, which has given me strong experience balancing demanding coursework. I can help students not only understand material but also develop effective study plans/strategies and confidence. My AP scores were Biology (4), English Language and Comp (5), English Literature (5), Microeconomics (3), Psychology (3), Spanish Language and Culture (5), Spanish Literature and Culture (4), United States Government and Politics (3), and United States History (4). Beyond academics, I like playing tennis and have recently joined the pickleball craze. I am also on the Davidson College Communications team where I create social media content for the college. I love dabbling in ceramics, and this may tie into my interests in medicine as well, since I want to become an OB-GYN or pursue general surgery, both fields that involve working hands-on with physical material, just like clay! I look forward to working with students in individual or small-group sessions who share an interest in STEM, Spanish, reading, or all of the above. I’m passionate about passing on knowledge, not just in specific subjects, but also in the skills and preparation needed to succeed across courses.

If you have a specific tutor in mind, you're welcome to request them directly — we'll confirm whether they're available and the right fit for your student. Otherwise, Ryan writes a personal email to understand your student's needs, learning style, and goals — then handpicks a tutor from the roster. You're not filling out a form and getting assigned randomly. If the first tutor isn't the right fit after the first session, we'll find you a better match at no extra charge.
Yes. Many families start with a single session to see how the tutor and student connect before committing to a regular schedule. There's no pressure to book in advance — reach out and we'll set something up.
Yes. Many of our tutors are strong across several subjects, and sessions can cover more than one if that's what the student needs that week. Flexibility is built into how we work.
Most of our tutors continue working through breaks, either online or in-person at the college if the tutors remain on campus during that vacation. We'll let you know in advance if a tutor has a gap in availability and arrange coverage with one of our other tutors — in-person or online — in the required subject.
Occasionally, if the student lives very close to the tutor's campus. Most sessions take place on or near the college campus or online. This keeps sessions in an academically focused environment — which tends to produce better results.
The families who see the biggest results are the ones who commit to a regular cadence — typically once, twice, or three times a week. One-on-one tutoring with a student from an elite college, who genuinely understands the material, is a fundamentally different experience from a tutoring center or an app. Most of our clients stay with us for multiple semesters.

That depends on where your student is starting and how consistently they show up. Ana will identify the specific gaps, focus sessions on them, and adjust as the student progresses. Families who stick to a weekly schedule typically see meaningful progress within four to six weeks.
